Yin Shun, Investigation into Emptiness (A book request)

Post by sphairos »

Hi everyone,

There is a translation of Ven. Yin Shun's "An Investigation into Emptiness” (Kong zhi tanjiu 空之探究, 1985), by Shi Huifeng (=Matthew
Orsborn).

https://www.amazon.com/Investigation-in ... 0981853137

I wonder if someone might have a soft copy of that book that they could share with me?

I read Chinese, but I need to consult the translation of a few passages.
How good and wonderful are your days,

1st chapter

Agama - emptiness and liberation path

【空śūnya, suñña】&【空性śūnyatā, suññatā】, an important terminology in Buddha's teachings . In the dissemination and circulation of Buddha dhamma , the importance of "emptiness" is constantly being propounded . From how the
Buddha is called as King of Emptiness and Buddhism is called an "Empty Gateway" , one can imagine the vastness and far-reaching of the sense of emptiness . However, what did the early buddhism meanings of emptiness and emptiness represent ? Under what circumstances does emptiness represent the most widespread universal truth and the absolute truth !

Emptiness dwelling , is the Samadhi of wisdom respected in the early days of Buddhism . For example, Volume Nine of "Samyukta Agama Sutra" (Taisho 2‧57) says:
"Sariputra said to the Buddha : World Honored One ! I am now meditating on the emptiness samadhi in the forest . Then the Buddha told Sariputra: Good indeed ! Good indeed ! ! You are now meditating and entering the Sthavirathera (the Supreme) Samadhi ."
